The Procedure to be Followed Regarding the Oral Examination in Appointments to Associate Professor Positions:

1. Among the candidates applying for associate professor positions of universities that have an oral exam requirement in their appointment criteria, the Interuniversity Board shall be requested to appoint a jury for those who have received the title of associate professor without taking the oral exam. In the request letter, the T.R. Identity Numbers and names of the candidates who will take the oral exam and the science/art field of associate professorship are specified.

2. The Interuniversity Board determines the oral examination jury according to the field of science/art to which the candidate has applied and notifies the University.

3. The rector conducts and finalises the oral examination process. The rector is obliged to prepare the necessary physical and technical facilities for the examination.

4. The oral examination report prepared in two copies for each candidate by the jury is delivered by the jury chairman to the rector of the university where the examination is held or to the dean or director assigned by the rector for the examination in return for signature. One copy of the exam result report is kept in the candidate's file to be used in the appointment procedures carried out by the relevant university, and the other copy is sent to the Interuniversity Council.

5. Candidates who are successful in the oral examination shall be given a ‘Certificate of Achievement in the Oral Examination for Associate Professorship’ by the Interuniversity Board upon their application.

6. The ‘Certificate of Achievement in the Oral Examination for Associate Professorship’ issued by the Interuniversity Board is accepted as a valid document for applications to associate professor positions of universities that have an ‘oral examination’ requirement in the criteria for appointment to associate professor positions; no other oral examination is held for these candidates.
